Has there ever been a moment when you've been sipping Bulleit Bourbon and wanted it to have even more rye? Well you're in luck, they now have their own Rye whiskey! Bulleit Rye is made with a mashbill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley and is produced in small batches. An absolutely stunning rye that won a Double Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2013.
Big heaps of cherries and vanilla, with subtle notes of leather and tobacco.
Rather hot at first, the spices coming to the forefront. This is followed by peaches, more cherries and a little bit of orange zest.
A smoky finish, carried by cinnamon, allspice and a hint of sweeties.
The Bulleit distillery sure know their way around a rye whiskey.

I am new to the rye whiskey world. As a matter of fact, I'm quite new to whiskey in general. Good whiskey that is. I was curious about the rye style so I gave it a try. Bulleit was recommended to me by a very knowledgeable store near my home. I must say that I am thoroughly impressed! This stuff is good. Like another poster said, I found myself nosing and sipping this for about an hour and fell in love. This has moved front and center on my list of "go-to's" after a busy work week. Cheers!
Been a Bulleit drinker for some years now and this just increase my appreciation of the distillers - Keep up the great work.
I never tasted a rye before, so this was new on me. The nose and palate confused me. Fresh cherry was the focal point here. As a typical islay drinker, not exactly my cup of tea. But I appreciated what it was telling me. However, the sheer bluntness of it offences me, making it unsuitable for a first-of-the-night dram. I reccomend it as a second or third of the night, as the edges will slightly wear down. Not bad, but there are far more reffined whisky's out there. (RB)
Lighter than rye whiskeys like Rittenhouse and Sazerac, tastes like regular Bulleit but with a very nice subtle and surprising cherry finish. Worth a try if you like your ryes and want to try something different.
This isn't anything like a bourbon, cos it ain't a bourbon. It's a whole different beast. Try it, you might like it. I love it. I started on scotch but this is now my drink. Thank you bulleit!!
