Has there ever been a moment when you've been sipping Bulleit Bourbon and wanted it to have even more rye? Well you're in luck, they now have their own Rye whiskey! Bulleit Rye is made with a mashbill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley and is produced in small batches. An absolutely stunning rye that won a Double Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2013.
Big heaps of cherries and vanilla, with subtle notes of leather and tobacco.
Rather hot at first, the spices coming to the forefront. This is followed by peaches, more cherries and a little bit of orange zest.
A smoky finish, carried by cinnamon, allspice and a hint of sweeties.
The Bulleit distillery sure know their way around a rye whiskey.

My first rye whiskey and it was even better than expected. I'm not much of a bourbon guy so I'm exploring the range of ryes out there. Not nearly enough, but so far I'm very impressed. I usually go for a lightly peated highland scotch and have found most speysides too much for the price here in the usa. Rye to the rescue! Satisfies the fruity desire but packs way more punch. I nosed and sipped my first glass for an hour and kept saying "wow!"
First bourbon I actually enjoyed. It isn't too sweet, has a smooth butter and vanilla flavour and a little cereal finish. Absolutely wonderful for a great price (only 25 euros in my town).
I cannot taste and smell nothing else whit this stuff. I tried to like it but have 3/4 of bottle on shelf for about 8 months. I keeping coming back to it from time to time but the experience is bit disappointing.
I love this stuff. I got a whole bunch of folks turned on to it and I prefer this to scotch. 3 Fingers with a big ice cube!
