The very first 10-year-old single malt to be wholly distilled, aged, and bottled following Bruichladdich's resurrection in 2001. A true milestone bottling, and a splendid collectible.

    neither here nor there

Not as unpleasant as others think but not a lot to it. Some might say light and subtle I just struggled find anything endearing. Certainly drinkable though. A good malt for someone t try as their first maybe

    Delightful!

Not sure how anyone gets baby vomit from this? Perhaps it's the slightly vegetable / herbal notes that throw some people. I find this highly enjoyable - live the contrast of the sweet start and dry finish and the somewhat basic (opposite of acidic) flavours that come through. A unique dram and a memorable one.

    What jaded palettes some have

Bright. Fresh. Youthful and full of vigour. maritime without the peat smoke of it's neighbours. How you find vomit in the wonderful, floral, aromatic -but warming - dram I will never understand.

    About the "vomit" smell

As some have mentioned, there is indeed a note of "baby-vomit" in the nose lying around the coastal notes and honey/fruity sweetness. If you consider this to be an "off-note" (which not everyone does btw, If the name bothers you, think "buttermilk" instead) a couple of teaspoons of water and about 10 minutes will remove it completely. Water and time generally improves this whisky anyway. Although the lack of peat and the creamy mouthfeel make it seem like an easy-going and approachable whisky, take your time with it. Water and time will open a pandoras box of really interesting stuff like herbs and other notes that are not often found in whisky. Tight complexity is easily mistaken for monotony. Take your time and you will be rewarded! Truly great stuff!

    NOT A FAN

I'm around half way through my first bottle and i'm still not sure what to make of it! It's not all bad there are some subtle sweet notes in there but the nose will take your nasal hairs clean off if you are not careful and there is something sour in the finish. Maybe i got a bad bottle and i would definitely try it again.
