Single Malt
Bruichladdich
The very first 10-year-old single malt to be wholly distilled, aged, and bottled following Bruichladdich's resurrection in 2001. A true milestone bottling, and a splendid collectible.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
I'm always pleased to find a bottle of this in a restaurant, makes for a fantastic after dinner dram. Not to heavy after a huge meal but still holds enough character making you want another!
clean smooth full, creamy vanilla, nuttiness, bourbon casks most definetley used in this, sweet vanilla dominates this dram but never overwhelms beautiful harmony of flavour and a beautiful thick oily texture simply beautiful
Nice and complex. Great value for money, top quality
In my humble opinion, and I would expect Mr McEwan's as well, whisky is about passion. When looking at these reviews I see people passionate about how they feel about this malt, one way or the other. Clearly more love it than hate it, but there seems to be very little middle ground. It also seems that the ones that hate it never really gave it a chance (if this tastes like your vomit, it must be wonderful to be you with a bad stomach virus), but that's really beside the point. They feel strongly either way. But if the cards are on the table, 46% ABV, no chill filtration, no colourant and highly regarded by expert and novice drammers alike... as a standard bottling, does it get any better than that on paper. At the very minimum it deserves a try.
If this is what your vomit tastes like... id like to sample some of your vomit ;) Must be a treat whenever you've catched a stomach-virus, im jealous! Seriously though... euhh this is absolutely fabulous whisky, astonishingly good! A bargain!
