That Boutique-y Whisky Company is back with a second batch of single malt from Australia's Black Gate! Based in New South Wales, Black Gate is operated by husband and wife duo Brian and Genise Hollingworth, with the assistance of their dachshund named Frankie, who you'll see pictured on the label busily chasing off emus. This expression joins That Boutique-y Whisky Company's Wine Cask Series, and was matured for three years in ex-Port casks, imparting some beautifully fruity and jammy character.
Batch 2 is a release of 345 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Summer fruits shine through with a touch of sweet, floral blossom and chocolate brazil nuts.
Juicy plum and dark cherry, a good dollop of vanilla cream, and burnt sugar. Warming oak spice kicks in, bringing wafts of tobacco and spiced raisins.
Stone fruits and berries continue with sweet honey, a touch of oak char, and a gently herbal finish.
