Wow, the name certainly lived up to expectations - what a brilliant, peaty Islay malt. This is so fantastically complex and nuanced and a cut above some of the other more recent offerings to come from the island (looking at you, Smokehead..). What a super dram!

One of the most well balanced Islay whiskies around! It also shows the level of complexity you can get from a Blended Malt that you can’t quite get with most Single Malts.
Don't let words like heavy smoke and slabs of peat put you off, this is a genuinely great Islay whisky. I found this peaty without being overpowering and for me it was a great one to start with for my journey in peaty whiskies.
I am a hug fan of quality blended malts and this one is about is good as they come. As the name suggests, there's a 'big' amount of 'peat' but it's still remarkably well-balanced and captures the essence of Islay perfectly. All the limited edition releases I've tried have been superb as well!
