Arran Lochranza Reserve Bottling Note

A citrus-y, light and elegant no-age-statement single malt Scotch whisky from the distillery on the Isle of Arran. The Lochranza Reserve replaced the Arran Original in mid-2014. The name comes from the village on the Isle of Arran where the distillery is located.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Fresh green apples, lemon peels and a hint of milk chocolate. A touch of golden barley and sea breeze too.

Palate: The salty sea air notes grow slightly on the palate, balanced with plenty of juicy citrus and sweet toffee pennies. Hints of oak spice.

Finish: Relaxed and creamy on the finish.

Arran Lochranza Reserve Reviews

Interesting flavors

Pretty good for the price point, golden caramels/ toffee, hints of salt, citrus, balanced, slight oak, fruity and smooth, pretty good

First time trying Arran, it’s now my go to regular👌🏻

A few more years...

I find it with not much character, would put it in the 3-7 year old category.Definitely one I want my money back on.To someone taking up malts as a "hobby",not one I would promote.

Better than the 10 year

Only other dram I've had from this distillery is the 10 year but this is probably a little better . Very noticeable lemon zest and vanilla notes with sea spray and a sweet, creamy finish that lasts a while. This is an excellent dram for the price and I love that it's non chill filtered and natural color. Buy it it's worth the money. Cheers! The Sugarbear

The best scotch for sub 35 dollars!

A nice dram

I found this single malt at our neighborhood store on sale. I took a chance on it and am glad I did. This dram is full of character, complex notes of cinnamon, brown sugar, lemon. I also like that it's non-chill filtered and does not contain artificial coloring. This Scotch has a long finish. I think a drop or two if water releases more flavors. There is a light saltyness, but no peat.

soft and smoooth

Beautiful soft scotch. The warmth comes up slowly and gentle. Almost taste the Isle mist. No next day residual regret. Love it.

The Isle of Arran continues to produce excellent drams and the Lochranza Reserve is yet another amazing example of Arran's commitment to quality. Great price point as well!

Nice single malt

Strong tasting straight away , then into hints of chocolate ,slight aniseed or liquorice taste ,nice souvenir of my short visit to the distillery shop, wish I'd bought the 14 year old Arran tho it's out of this world

Fantastic tasting stuff for the price, very smooth and drinkable, I prefer it over the 14 year old

Mr Robert Smith

If you like like a like tasting whisky - without the heaviness or edge of darker varities - dont hesitate to choose Arran Lochenza. It has a taste note too disimilar to Scapa - 16yr old - but a note or two less sweet. Very drinkable and most enjoyable at a very reasonable price!
