This vermouth is made using white Pineau des Charentes, a particular type of French aperitif wine that doesn't often find its way into vermouths. It's really quite perplexing why, as it makes a rather special and altogether unique drink. Gorgeously herbal, unsurprising from a vermouth named after the botanist of Louis XIV.
Wafts of summer breeze, full of honeysuckle, hay and subtle apricot.
Bright citrus, lavender, roughly cut herbs fresh from the garden and a little bit of bitter wood.
Fruity on the finish - lemons, oranges, grapes.
This should give all those cocktails makes something new to play with - quite a difference from the regular vermouths we've been enjoying for decades.
