Portsmouth Distillery, based at Fort Cumberland, was established in 2018 by ex Naval officers Vince Noyce and Giles Collighan, who shared a mutual love of rum. They have put that affection for the spirit to good use by creating 1968 Portsmouth White Rum, made with a base of cane syrup from Costa Rica.
1968 references a time when Portsmouth was packed with people heading to the first Isle of Wight Festival. In spirit of this, the back of the label sports a colourful Pop Art style picture.
A silky mouthfeel containing both herbal, grassy notes and zesty fruit flavours with a touch of sultana sweetness.
