1812 3 Year Old Rum
From the Portsmouth Distillery comes this glorious rum, matured for three years in ex-bourbon casks, just a pebbles throw from the sea! Distilled and matured from scratch in Portsmouth, it's impressive stuff for sipping, and ought to make a fab pairing to ginger ale and the like.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Foam banana sweets, dried fruit, creamy strawberry, pink grapefruit peel, and apple chutney bring all the fruitiness to the fore, with vanilla, coconut, and nutmeg in support.
Palate
Still fruity (green banana) and vibrant, with touches of cask influence in the shape of cacao powder, honey, some nuttiness, and more vanilla.
Finish
Long and delicately sweet.
