Penny Blue XO Batch #004 Bottling Note

This is the fourth batch of Penny Blue Rum, produced at Medine, the oldest operational distillery in Mauritius. An excellent expression, made with rums aged between 4 and 11 years old. The Penny Blue Rum brand itself is made in partnership with the fantastic folks at Berry Bros. & Rudd, and named after a very, very rare stamp...

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Light and sweet with orange, oak-y spice, a touch of pineapple and banana.

Palate: Continued elegant profile with good helpings of orange zest, clove and rounded vanilla sweetness.

Finish: Drying and spicy.

Penny Blue XO - Batch #004 Reviews

Paulo

Just tasted this alongside Zacapa Solera 23 (don't be fooled it's not 23 yrs old just contains some - naughty!) and El Dorado 12 and it stands up very well - perhaps not as well rounded and smooth but very enjoyable and worth trying. El Dorado 12 edges the three for me but I'd buy this again.
