From Italian brandy house, Villa Zarri comes this superb walnut liqueur – a traditional product of the Emilia-Romagna region, made from green walnuts and their husks, alongside cloves, cinnamon, and sugar. Following tradition, the walnuts are harvested on 24th June, which is St. John's Day and is a good time for them to be ripe, but yet to develop hardened shells. An intriguing sipper, and works rather well drizzled over ice cream too.
Deep notes of liquorice and anise, with fragrant wafts of cinnamon and nutmeg, nut oil lingers with sweet, aromatic spice and a whiff of smoke beneath.
