The Calabrian amaro is named after Captain Jefferson, the captain of a ship that capsized in the region in 1871, and allegedly created his own amaro when stranded. Very resourceful. This particular amaro packs in all sorts of herbs, citrus, and spices, perfect as an after dinner sipper.
