Although most of the botanicals used to make the Principe De Los Apostoles Mate Gin come from Misiones, Argentina, the gin itself is made in Mendoza. The botanicals include peppermint, eucalyptus, pink grapefruit skin and yerba mate, which is used to make a popular drink in South America and captures the spirit of Argentina rather well indeed. One of the first premium gins from Argentina, and a tasty one at that.

FANTASTIC AND BOLD. Really beautiful gin that encapsulates all the flavors of Argentina. Great in cocktails, and allows be to get very playful in cocktail making

This is THE MOST AMAZING gin I've ever had.... including drinking it straight! I never liked Gin until I tried this & now this is my "GO TO" beverage for those hot / balmy days. Amazing with tonic too or just a sliver of lemon peel

At the first tasting, I was surprised by the dominant flavor of mint. At the second, I was delighted by subtle aromas and a slight bitterness behind it, that made me think of Fernet-Branca, in a delicate and delightful way. No wonder for a gin native to the country of Fernet Coca...

I'm in Buenos Aires right now drinking this. Bought 2 bottles from the bar where it originated. It's very cool - speakeasy type of place with a florists upstairs. You have to knock to get in, they you are let into the bar via a fridge door!Anyway, the gin. Don't add too much tonic otherwise you won't taste the herbs. A very unusual taste, which I LOVE. A shaving of grapefruit peel is how it's served in the bar but I will be trying mine with a sprig of sage at home. Might try it from the freezer too. It's not a high production gin, so get it while you can :0)Enjoy!Gin. (Yes, that is my name!)
