Santa Ana Gin

A marvellous gin with a host of tropical botanicals, Santa Ana takes its name from the Santa Ana Cabaret in Manilla, which in its day was the largest in the world back in the roaring '20s. A base of classic botanicals such as juniper, coriander, orange, angelica, and orris root lay the foundations for an addition of four carefully selected botanicals from the Philippines. Ylang ylang and Alpina bring delicate floral fragrance to balance the fruity zest of calamansi and dalandan citrus. Housed in a suitably art deco inspired glass bottle, adorned with a splendid jungle scene, this is just the thing if you want to add an exotic twist to your favourite gin serves!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

A host of elegant, fragrant florals lead to bold juniper and earthen spice, lifted by zesty notes of zingy citrus.

Reviews for Santa Ana Gin
Perfect drink for the summer!
This gin was really fragrant and made the perfect gin and tonic - would recommend!

Unique taste and excellent in cocktails
Bought this for our wedding and our guests really enjoyed it. It's a really floral drink and worked great with Schweppes but really came into its own with the French 45!

Not an ordinary gin!
An unusual floral gin - gorgeous fragrance, and I was pleasantly surprised as it made a wonderful negroni. Extremely special but its not for everyone.

Exotic and unusual
I received a sample and tried it with a simple Schweppes tonic, big block of ice and a slice of lemon before I’d read any reviews. It’s an unusual gin, it originally made me think of something like Parma violets but not quite, and since I’ve looked it up I agree it is the floral perfume I’m smelling/tasting. It’s not too overpowering for me though, it tastes exotic and reckon it would make some interesting cocktails

Beautifully floral Gin
This is a beautifully fragrant and floral Gin which tastes great. The bottle also makes for a great display on my drinks trolley!

Unique floral gin
Delicious gin. More floral than a traditional gin, but not surprising when you consider the botanicals. Very enjoyable - particularly in a French 75. Added bonus that the bottle is beautiful and looks wonderful on my shelf.

Awful
Tastes like perfume, as if you literally drank perfume. I can't see how anyone is drinking this and liking it

Disgustingly floral!!
I did not like this gin one bit I'm afraid & could not drink it. Way to floral for me. Bottle beautiful but sadly not the gin

Unique and heady floral gin
I got a sample of this and both my husband and I thought it was wonderful (we both like piney gin and peaty single malts, but this is an entirely different experience altogether)!
It really is an unexpected flavour, and as others have mentioned, it's a bit like drinking perfume in that the ylang ylang really opens up on the finish. That said, we both found it beautifully balanced and delicate, and certainly very unique. If you don't like the scent (and now taste) of white/tropical flowers, this probably won't be for you, and it might not be the best gift unless you're *very* confident in knowing the palate of the recipient.
We have only sampled it neat so far, so I'm really keen to so how it plays with different mixers and in cocktails.

Nauseating botanicals.
Sadly not liked by either gin drinker in the house, very overwhelming perfume both in scent and taste - definitely not 'delicate' florals. Nice bottle for sloe gin next year, after we've offloaded the contents on someone else!
