Christmas Pudding Gin Bottling Note

The guys at the Sacred Spirits Company have created this festive themed (and slightly insane)gin. They've taken high quality English grain spirit and infused an 8kg Christmas pudding in it for two months, before re-distilling it to produce a transparent, Christmas pudding flavoured gin. Mad, but we love it!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

An aroma of juniper and dried fruits entices the nose, followed by a real Christmas pudding flavour on the palate with even a suggestion of the texture too (although this might be perceived by association). The finish is long and creamy with further notes of dried currants and spice.

Delicious

Makes a delicious Martini and its great in a Negroni paired with a lovely chocolatey vermouth, big and fruity full of Christmas spice. I also like it straight from the freezer its a real treat.

Not-so-merry-christmas!

After reading the comments on this gin, I couldn't wait to try it. I don't know whether I've missed something but, no smell of Christmas pudding, and definitely no taste of Christmas pudding!! Absolutely gutted!!! Even now, I'm still desperately sipping it, willing it to taste remotely christmassy!!

ooh - this is lovely!

a proper gin with puddingy backnotes tantalising the senses - love it neat and cold - though a dash of tonic can work wonders!

Lovely sweet gin

This is a very nice sweet gin; primarily a warm raisin taste. I have to agree with an earlier reviewer that it does not clearly taste of Christmas puddings though it does have the flavours that are in christmas puddings like raisins, citrus, warm almost rum-like.

Christmas Pudding Gin is lovely

Really delicious, a sweet flavoured gin that I'd buy again

brilliant gin

Brilliant stuff. You can smell and taste the christmas pudding, it's a subtle flavour when mixed with tonic (haven't tried it straight from the freezer!) but it's a lovely bottle of gin.

No Christmas Pudding here.

This is a really nice gin, not the strongest of botanicals but still very pleasant. However, I could not taste any Christmas pudding at all. We tasted with a group of friends and we all liked the gin but found no Christmas Pudding. We tried it from the freezer, neat, then at room temp, then with tonic but I think it might have been stored next to a pudding rather than distilled with some. Overall, I say stick to the normal sacred gin.
