It's very hard to go wrong with Argentine Malbec - it's always one of the safest options on a wine list. But in the hands of Zuccardi, one of the country's most innovative producers, it becomes something quite sublime: perfumed, elegant and impossible to resist. Steak is the obvious choice but don't be afraid to drink it with lighter dishes like roast chicken.
Ripe blackcurrants, plums and dark cherries with a distinct rose petal and violet floral edge, and supple leathery tannins.
