Top notch syrah from Hawke's Bay in New Zealand. For those who haven't had really good New Zealand syrah before, expect something a little closer to Crozes-Hermitage in France than a beefy Australian shiraz but with a distinctly Kiwi brightness of fruit. After five years this is beginning to take on meaty leather type notes though still with plenty of freshness. This would be great with lighter meat dishes like loin of pork.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Raspberry and blackberry fruit with a spicy floral edge and notes of cinnamon, clove and leather on the finish.
