If you want to be taken seriously in wine circles, you have to know the difference between Pouilly-Fuissé and Pouilly-Fumé. The first is made from chardonnay and comes from Burgundy, the second is made from sauvignon blanc and comes from the Loire - it's a bit like Sancerre. Does that clear things up? This particular wine is the Burgundian one and very nice it is too. Lots of bright fresh fruit and a nuttiness that comes from ageing in used barriques. This would be lovely with a nice piece of lemon sole.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Fresh green apple fruit, peach and citrus with a creamy finish and a touch of hazelnut.
