Austrian wine here, made with 100% blaufrankisch grapes, which is one of Austria's most celebrated varieties. This 2019 vintage from Weingut Dorli Muhr is produced in Carnutum, in the east of the country. Samt & Seide translated to 'velvet & silk', which is suggestive of the style. With this wine, grapes are whole-bunch fermented and partially foot trodden. The wine parcels are then aged for a year, before being blended and further aged in oak barrels.
Plenty of ripe summer berries, some earthy spices, liquorice, and a touch of leather.
