A stellar 2000 vintage Pinot Noir from Maison Roche de Bellene, released as part of Collection Bellenum, a series of rare older vintages from the winery. Produced with grapes from the Chambolle-Musigny region, there's a good balance of forest and earthy notes among the red fruit.
Touches of raspberry, along with damp earth, pine and tobacco, with a dash of cherry too.
