From the family-run Domaine Fernand & Laurent Pillot comes a fabulous pinot noir, produced with grapes from the Volnay in Burgundy. The wine is aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, with a third of those barrels being fresh. 2020 was a warm vintage so this is certainly more opulent and juicy than Burgundies of old. Just the thing to go with game dishes or Peking duck.
Gently floral, with redcurrant, raspberry and cooked strawberry, with subtle oak spice.
