Description

Monte Velho is the budget label from Portugal's Esporão and it always over delivers for the money. It's a blend of classic Portuguese varieties aragonez, trincadeira, and touriga nacional with a little syrah, and bottled with no oak, to accentuate the fresh fruit character. A great all-rounder this 375ml bottle would be particularly good with tomato dishes.

Overall

Intense nose, dark fruit, sloes, grape skins, smells really young and vibrant. Really juicy on the palate with cherries, plums, fennel and a savoury leathery note on the finish.

VERY NICE.

Bought this for my Xmas dinner as everybody likes white wine. I must say I really enjoyed it. It would be nice if M o M had more half bottles to try. The other 75cl bottles of red wine bought will be unopened until the person in question is on a WATER ONLY DIET!!!!
