Rasteau is one of the crus of the Southern Rhone along with Gigondas, Lirac and, most famous of all, Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Like its better known cousins, it's made largely from grenache with some other varieties in this case carignan. Domaine Richaud is 100% biodynamic and prides itself on its fresh wines without some of the heaviness you often get in southern French wines. Six years after harvest, this is beautifully mellow and would be superb with rich stews like a beef bourguignon.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Fresh raspberries and dark cherries with floral herbal notes and a creamy chestnut texture.
