Rasteau is located in the southern Rhone valley not far from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and a more rustic and much cheaper version of its illustrious neighbour is a good way to think about it. Domaine Richaud prides itself on the elegance of its wines, this isn't a southern bruiser by any means. Now with some bottle age it is starting to take on some leather and chestnut notes but still with plenty of ripe fruit. There's no better wine with meaty winter stews.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Red cherry and raspberry fruit on the palate with lots of pungent herbs followed by leather, baking spices and a little chestnut.
