Splendid Burgundy Pinot Noir from Domaine Philippe Levera, produced from grapes grown in the Côtes de Nuits village of En Champs. Gentle oak aging for around a year imparts rich, earthy spice to balance dark, jammy berries – would go very well with a nice mushroom risotto. With its soft fruit, this is good to drink now though will improve for up to ten years with careful cellaring.
Earthy pepper with hints of vanilla, dark cherries, berries, and tangy redcurrant, a touch of flint beneath.
