Here's something you don't see very often: Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir from New Zealand with eight years age on it. This wine is always absolutely delicious young but keep it for a few years and it really blossoms. It's still packed full of fruit but it's moving from fresh dark cherries to cooked strawberries and maraschino and the spices are getting warmer and mellower. Drink this with Peking Duck and you won't be disappointed.
Menthol aromatic nose, maraschino cherries - just jumps out of the glass. Lots of sweet fruit on the palate, spicy, floral and a touch medicinal with that maraschino note again. Tannins are soft but still present and the finish is long and spicy with an almond note.
