This domaine has been going since 2004, when Christophe Curtat having worked with some of the big names Northern Rhone, set up on his own. He makes this seemingly lowly wine with all the care and attention he puts into his highly-regarded wines in St. Joseph and Crozes Hermitage. It's made from old Syrah vines, fermented with wild yeasts and then aged in large used oak casks which don't impart flavour so you're getting the pure essence of the fruit. Serious stuff.
Dark fruit, violets, and herby garrique notes on the nose. In the mouth, it's spicy and peppery with blackberries and ripe meaty tannins.
