Chateau Melin Saint-Émilion 2016
Bordeaux is usually divided in two for reds wines: left bank and right bank. On the left side of the river Gironde the wines are dominated by cabernet sauvignon, while on the right hand side the wines tend to be softer because merlot is the dominant variety. Chateau Melin is in Saint Emilion, firmly on the right hand side, so as you would expect it's full and opulent, but there's a good dollop of cabernet franc which provides freshness. All in all, you'd be hard pushed to find a Bordeaux that offers this much deliciousness per pound.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nice freshness on the nose, cherryish, perfumed touch of pencil shavings. Ripe and fruity on the palate, fresh, some floral and spice notes and then quite firm tannin. Touch of dark chocolate on the finish.
