One of the less well-known regions of the Southern Rhone, Gigondas is geographically close and very similar in character to Châteauneuf-du-Pape but is often overlooked in favour of it's more well-known near neighbour. Domaine des Bosquets comes under the Brechet family label and uses Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault to make their Gigondas before aging in oak for 15 months. While this wine can be drunk now, it will continue to age for another 10 years or more.
Rich black fruit, pepper, liquorice and vanilla, this wine is definitely approachable now with soft tannins and velvety mouthfeel.
