Baron Philippe de Rothschild is the name behind one of the greatest and most expensive wines in Bordeaux: Chateau Mouton-Rothschild. But the company also make some more down-to-earth wines like this delicious syrah from the Languedoc. Full of ripe spicy fruit and herby garrique notes, this would be splendid with ratatouille.
Brambles, dark cherries and rosemary with leathery tannins, and a fresh edge.
