If you love wines made from nebbiolo like Barolo or Barbaresco, you have to try xinomavro. This is a Greek grape that makes full-bodied, intensely flavoured reds with firm tannins. Alpha Estate produces some of the best examples in the country with lots of beautiful fruit to balance the big structure... and with that all important Turkish delight note. This is the single vineyard version so it's a little more intense than the standard bottling. You will need food with this: roast lamb, rich aubergine dishes, it's very versatile.
