Writers Tears Red Head
A lovely fruity release from the Walsh distillery in south east Ireland, Writers Tears Red Head was named so because of its inviting shade of amber, we assume. The no age statement single malt has been matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks, and is bottled without chill filtering at 46% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Candied orange peel, chocolate covered marzipan, sherried dried fruit, and praline and tropical fruit.
Palate
An oily nuttiness, with fruity Christmas cake, tangy pineapple, liquorice and melted milk chocolate.
Finish
Rich walnut with oak and baking spice lingering.
