Batch No. 5.1 from Woven is inspired by the art of Japanese blending and changing seasons in leafy forests. Blended Campbeltown malt makes up the core of this whisky, with organic grain whisky joining, alongside whisky from Glasgow, Glentauchers, and Loch Lomond distilleries. Wood character, subtle smoke, and some fruity funk are the name of the game here, with the whisky being married in a Port casks. Cracking stuff from Woven, as usual.
Woody spices, damp oak, distant bonfires, and dried tropical fruits.
Barley sugar, green peppercorns, vanilla, tobacco, sweet smoke, and warm spices.
Toasted brown bread, with a touch of tawny marmalade.
