From Wilderness Trail comes this Small Batch Bourbon, and its mash bill is dominated by corn (obviously, because bourbon), with smaller proportions of rye, malted barley, and, less commonly, wheat. It's matured in a mixture of toasted and charred barrels, with only 12 barrels produced in each batch. It's also bottled in bond, as per the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, a cracking find for fans of wheated bourbon.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose Peppery freshly baked bread, accompanied by wood smoke and just a hint of honey.
Palate Orange peel, rich oak and some berry jam, with cigar box and a tropical fruit tang.
Finish Cinnamon buns and cooked apple.
