The Cheshire English Single Malt - Fireside Special Release
Whisky distilled, matured, and bottled by Weetwood Ales, who took all those years brewing ales with malted barley and applied the experience to English whisky. In 2018, the brand began distilling on a 400-ltr copper pot still and maturing spirit in first-fill bourbon, American oak quarter-casks, and STR casks, but for Fireside Special Release the whisky was finished in oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Just 997 bottles were filled at 46% ABV with its natural colour and without chill-filtration.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Ripe cherries, amaretto, and caramelised walnuts. Dried fruit and dark chocolate.
Palate
Vanilla and honey, crème brûlée. Dates, figs, and raisins, like an indulgent Christmas pudding.
Finish
Rich, long and fruity with warming spice and a hint of log fire smoke.
