The Irishman Cask Strength (2021 Release)
This is the 2021 release of The Irishman Cask Strength, made using a blend of single malt and single pot still whiskeys, and aged in first-fill bourbon casks before being bottled up at a full-on 54.8% ABV. Bold flavours abound, while still remaining complex and well-composed. Top Irish whiskey as ever from the Walsh team.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Malty vanilla and custard cream biscuits, followed by dried cherry and a touch of citrus.
Palate
Still has plenty of vanilla to it, now with cardamom and cinnamon developing, plus a smidge of apricot.
Finish
Candied ginger, honeycomb, and macadamia nuts.
