The fourth release of The Irishman 12 Year Old single malt Irish whiskey from Walsh. These bottlings are aged in first-fill bourbon barrels and only released once a year (this one was from their 2016 release) with just 6,000 bottles making their way to shelves. Top notch stuff as ever.
Milk chocolate buttons, fried banana and some soft cider apple funkiness.
Custard-filled doughnuts, a hint of tobacco, dates and hazelnut cream.
A waft of floral barley appears on the finish, paired with black pepper and apple chips.

Was a very smooth whiskey when made to an old fashioned. The key notes of smoke and fruit (apple chips) was very subtle but noticeable. Great even in 2023. Cheers! Patrick~
