Writers Tears Copper Pot Irish Whiskey

Writers Tears is a light, sweet Irish whiskey made using a mix of single pot still and single malt whiskeys, resulting in oodles of honeyed, fruity notes. Wonderfully easy to drink, it would make for a great introduction to Irish whiskey for folks new to the spirit. (No writers were harmed in the making of this whiskey.)

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Soft and sweet with thick honey spread on granary toast. Hints of citrus peels.

    Palate

Honey develops on the palate. Mellow notes of vanilla and golden malt. Green apple skin, caramel and a hint of oak.

    Finish

    Warming, sweet and long.

    Overall

    Very yummy Irish whiskey indeed.

    Great smooth Irish Whiskey.

Lovely buttery smooth Irish Whiskey. Gentle notes on the nose, vanilla buttery taste finishing with raisins.

    Irish treat

Great fan of Islay and othervwest coast malts, new to Writers Tears, offered to me by my Irish son in law. Nose isn’t anything special, but belies the complexity and flavour of the malt. Lovely vanilla and some floral notes, sweet finish. I’ll be looking to buy some of this soon.

Great value and great taste AND great name too!

What a treasure! Love red breast 12 year single pot but hard to get regularly and price is tough! Enter writer' tears! Wonderful! Our new favorite- light But flavorful - very tasty and aromatic - I hate to recommend because it will be harder for us to get!

Easy drinking delicious whiskey! New favourite!

Don’t understand the negative reviews saying this is harsh. For me it’s as smooth as silk and deliciously sweet with golden honey flavour, notes of vanilla and a touch of cinnamon spice. I’ve been drinking many varieties of whiskey and bourbon. This was an immediate hit for me and will be a regular staple as an easy drinking after dinner whiskey! Cheers!
