A five-year-old Islay bottled by Signatory. It's from a secret distillery, even we don't know which one, but it's a well-peated, satisfying dram, and we have a few ideas about where it comes from...

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Tar, roadworks and buttery grass. Caramel and honey provide the sweet touch.

Palate Sweet then peat! Sugared lemon peel followed by woodsmoke, leather and tyres.

Finish Smokey sweetness lingers.

Overall A great Islay, wherever it's from.

Don't let the 5 put you off!
May not have the maturity of other malts, but well worth a visit. Not lacking in flavour, but gives a more subtle Islay experience.
