    Uncle Duke's Single Grain Whisky

Inspired by the writings of American author Hunter S. Thompson, his love of Bourbon and Americana, this whisky brand was created by brewer BrewDog. It the first Scotch whisky that the Scottish producers, better known for its extensive line of beers, have released.

Uncle Duke’s was aged in heavily charred, brand new virgin American oak. Despite it being a single grain Scotch whisky, there is intended to be huge bourbon influences and a definite Kentucky personality in this self-proclaimed trans-Atlantic bastardisation.

While the distillery behind this whisky is undisclosed, we do know that it didn't come from BrewDog's Lone Wolf distillery in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, opened in 2016.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

BBQ charcoal and thick vanilla licks lead over soft oak and a little coconut.

    Palate

Through more vanilla comes runny caramel, sweet cereals and a prickle of fizzy oak spices. Bounty bar and a little candied peel are present too.

    Finish

A good length, with a little honey among the lingering vanilla.

    A good mood whisky

A good mood whisky, smooth and easy to drink. Great after dinner. I’ve seen some snobby reviews because it is different but it is what it’s set out to be and I am likely to drink it again and more likely to take a double! So a good sales line ?

    Unusual & worth a try.

It’s certainly different, I like a bourbon & like a single malt, I guess I drink too much but this is unusual and worth a try. It’s definitely smooth, had that familiar JD bourbon taste with no harsh hit on the throat, just a subtle tingle on the tongue.

    Drinkable Grain Whisky

Agree with your tasting notes, not my style of Whisky - but quite drinkable, not dissimilar from Bourbon

    Crap

Why would anyone want to do this to single grain Whisky, what a waste worst Whiskey I’ve ever tasted

    Enjoyed it

Quite a sociable drink, easy on the palate, surprisingly nice and smooth. Bargain at the price, will definitely drink again and soon.
