Bourbon
A superb Signatory bottling of single malt from the Tomintoul Distillery, released for the Cask Strength Collection. This 24 year old whisky was distilled back in May 1995 and initially aged in bourbon hogshead, before being moved over to a single fresh sherry butt for a finishing period of 44 months. In December 2019, it was bottled up at 52.1% ABV, with an outturn of 668 bottles.
Baked apple and stewed plum, with a drizzle of honey. Drying barley and flaked almond.
Oak spiciness arrives first, quickly mellowed by cinnamon roll sweetness and dried fruit.
Treacle tart, tobacco and just a hint of peppercorn.
