Cù Bòcan Creation #1

Not only did Tomatin's smoky Cù Bòcan single malt range receive a new design and new Signature expression in mid-2019, it also got a brand new series of expressions matured in a selection of interesting casks! Cù Bòcan Creation #1 was aged in Black Isle Brewery Imperial Stout and Bacalhôa Moscatel De Setúbal Wine Casks - an intriguing balance of big, chocolatey beer notes and rich, fruity wine, all backed up by lightly peated single malt. Should be fascinating stuff.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Espresso beans, red apples, roasted barley and shortbread.

Palate Buttered apples, walnut, cedar, dark chocolate bitterness and a hint of prune.

Finish Summer berry tart with a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Subtle whiffs of smoke.

Mind boggling whisky
superb peated whisky with so many different flavours to it. very pleasant and subtle peat so its not too heavy.

Nice.
It really works; the stout is perfectly balanced with the wine. Not as sophisticated as some higher priced whiskies but a delicious quaff.
