This particular Tobermory single malt was distilled in May 2005, and left to mature in a single refill hogshead. It stayed there for 14 years, until August 2019 when Douglas Laing cracked the cask open and bottled the Highlander. It was released as part of the Old Particular series, with an outturn of 300 bottles at 48.4% ABV.
Aromatic notes of tobacco, caramelised nuts and oily malt.
Vanilla macaroons, a touch of milk chocolate and barley sugar.
A fairly sweet finish, with some oak spice appearing alongside praline.
