Quite light and well-balanced. There is a certain freshness, pertained from notes of cut hay and straw, barley sugars and herbs, notes of cereals and melted salty butter on granary toast.
Medium-bodied with a richness. There are notes of gentle wood smoke and barley sugars, a farmy note with hints of hay and a roots with a touch of cereal sweetness and caramel.
Long and slightly herbal.

I love Laphroig but it can be a bit to much sometimes. Lighter and more of an everyday single malt whilst retaining the smoky peatiness of Islay malts. That good and all for well under £20. My favorite this winter. Cheers!
This tasted like horse shit on a rainy monday morning, ps Islay is naff
This was indeed a great bargain, like a lighter laphroaig/connemara hybrid. Nose: Hay, sweet liquorice, grassy peat. Taste: Light Peat surge grassy to citrus-peat, with barn-hay/fireside and a barley citrus/ peaty finnish. A surprise!
Smokey to smell like a open Pub fire in winter. Smokey for the first taste.Wonderful !!!! and the best for the money.Beets anything at under Twenty squid. All ways gone for a Speyside. But OH !!! what is this.
I actually , Believe it or NOT , won this in a raffle ! WOW - What a find, usually like laphroig, but this is much milder with a kinder after tast but still plenty of kick in the right place with a nice hearwarming afterglow. AN ABSOLUTE BARGAIN MALT !
