Ledaig 12 Year Old 2007 (cask 13707) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
A well-sherried, suitably smoky Ledaig single malt from the Tobermory Distillery! Produced on the Isle of Mull in February 2007, the liquid was then left in a single Pedro Ximénez sherry butt. Over a decade passed, and in November 2019 the whisky was bottled by Douglas Laing at 12 years old, with 352 bottles weighing in at 48.4% ABV for the Old Particular series.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Old oak and a whiff of maritime peat smoke, with barley sugar and snubbed candles.
Palate
Earthy, smoky peat, with briney undertones and some sherried sweetness peeking through.
Finish
Forest fruit jam and a wave of cured meats lingers.
