The Quiet Man 8 Year Old Bottling Note

This is an 8 year old Irish single malt whiskey from The Quiet Man range, finished in first-fill bourbon barrels. The name doesn't come from the John Wayne film, but from the father of the brand owner, a bartender who heard many stories when behind the bar but told no tales.

Quiet Man 8 Year Old Reviews

A lovely and interesting whiskey!

Lovely whiskey, quite different from my usual. I smelled Bradley apples. The finish was a bit like liquorice. Lovely!

Not great

Very clinical taste to it. High burn. Smokey taste to it which doesn't really belong in an Irish.

Good to excellent

Enjoyed the light smoke, fruit and cinnamon. Drank the whiskey neat, no water. Great single malt Irish whiskey at a good mid range price.

Mild

A very mild flavoured whiskey, especially for a single malt. Too mild to say I 'dislike', but not a whiskey I would recommend.

A very nice whiskey for a very good price.

My very first Single Malt Irish Whiskey. I was very much surprised with the smoothness of this whiskey. I thought of a buttery caramel up front and a smooth toffee finish with vanilla hints.

Good value

I'm not going to be a pretentious snob so here's my fair review. It's a well made whisky for what it is. It has a nice smooth upfront taste which reminds me of glenmorangie. Nice lightly sharp finish. For 29.99 here in Ohio, not a bad daily whisky.

Superb

First found this at a Whiskey festival. If you enjoy an Irish Whiskey, I would highly recommend.

Avoid

Dreadful branding clearly playing on the name of the film. Mediocre whiskey - not even distilled by the company selling it. Save your money for a proper whiskey - Green Spot, Redbreast, Bushmills, etc.

Mediocre

Better than the blended version.
Probably better than JW Red or Black, but most other half decent Irish whiskeys are much better.

Give it a try

Ok not great but I’ve had a lot worse!
