The third darkest bottling in the no-age-statement, sherry matured 1824 Series from The Macallan. Sienna is a naturally occurring pigment, referring not only to the hue of this expression but to the fact that The Macallan's whiskies are all released with no added colouring.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Noticeably bigger than Gold and Amber, orange peel, vanilla sugar and hot cross buns.
Raisins and dried apricots, ripe greengages, frozen currants.
Fruity and slightly spiced with a touch of anise.
This is where the 1824 Series becomes more intense.

Until Macallan come to the senses and return to telling consumers just how old their whisky is, I am keeping well away. At £65 a bottle I believe I am entitled to know its age - Why are Macallan hiding the ages of their whiskys?
Seeing how it was my sons first birthday I purchased a bottle based on various reviews and I will never look back, the aromas flavours and after taste that lingers with the sweetness possessed meant this will not be coming out too often, as I wish to savour every last drop!!
At a recent tasting I found this to be my favourite of all the new Macallan 1824 expressions. Pipped the Amber with it's smoothness and the Ruby with it's finish - for me, this is the one.
