The Glenlivet
Scotland
Single Malt
Nadurra means natural in Gaelic, and that's just what the Nadurra range of The Glenlivet single malt Scotch whisky is all about. It's bottled at cask strength without chill-filtration, letting you taste the always excellent Glenlivet whisky in the most natural way possible. It is made in small batches that are matured in bourbon casks for 16 years.
Soft hints of marmalade, subtle spices and a floral breeze, with vanilla surrounding all of it.
More floral notes. Fruit and honey droplets, followed by some toasted oak.
The oak subtly continues on the long finish, supported by a fair amount of spice.
A bright and shiny dram.
Picked up a bottle from this batch for £37.50 on offer at Tesco; there are bargains to be had if you do your homework! Sharp at first, the intensity of the alcohol carrying mainly apple notes. One teaspoon of mineral water: still sharp but much less so, apples dying down, custard, gentle vanilla, subtle and growing oak influence. Citrus but not overtly. An almost apple cider like quality. Overall, a lovely, gentle (I know, it's cask strength!, friendly whisky with trademark Glenlivet class
About a year into malt Whisky, and I've tried Glenfiddich 12 and 15, Glenmorangie, Ardbeg 10, Dalwhinnie, Old Pulteney, Aberlour and several other cheaper ones. This is the best!
Normally drink Glenfiddich 12-18yrs,but this glenlivet nadurra is class, smooth as anything.
Bought myself a bottle a while ago and I fell in love, wouldn't touch it with water, straight as it comes. very powerful yet so soft! absolutely beautiful! six stars out of five!
Just bought this bottle. Glenlivet is never a disappointment and this is no exception. I do particularly enjoy cask strength whiskies for their intensity (no I don't do subtle). I did try this first with just a few drops of water but find it more enjoyable straight. A superb bottle that I highly recommend
