A fabulously well-aged Glenlivet, bottled courtesy of North Star Spirits! The single malt was distilled in 1981, and spent nearly four decades of ageing in a hogshead. After 38 years it was bottled up, with a very limited outturn of just 78 bottles at 49.1% ABV. Rather buttery and herbal, and very well balanced.
Fresh buttered croissants, banoffee pie and pink pearl apples.
White pepper on toast with a side of vanilla ice cream.
Slight menthol and eucalyptus, floral gums and pear drops.
